Bayer’s legal costs to defend glyphosate products skyrocket

Germany-based Bayer has announced today that its legal costs to protect its herbicides Roundup and Ranger Pro from lawsuits launched in California are significantly increasing. Despite of this, Bayer was enjoined to pay $289m in damages caused by glyphosate herbicides. According to some analysts, the damages caused by glyphosate are likely to further increase and reach $3.8bn. Bayer’s shares today have declined 1.77% (Frankfurt).
