Since Monday, French group Sanofi replaced Elias Zerhouni with new head of research John Reed, former chief of research at Roche. Coming from said oncology market share top company, Reed’s appointment seems to reflect Sanofi’s intention to focus more and more on research for new anticancer therapies. A few days ago Sanofi also appointed Jean-Baptiste Chasseloup as its new CFO. He will take up the reins from outgoing Jérôme Contamine, who has been in charge for 9 years. Previously, Chasseloup was PSA group’s CFO, and earlier he ran sales and marketing positions in France and abroad. Chasseloup will join Sanofi on September 1. According to analysts, CEO Olivier Brandicourt’s move shows that he wants the company to adapt to the new market conditions.
