Mankind Pharma in talks to sell stake in the company to private equities

Livemint has reported today that private equities Carlyle Group and Advent International are about to place an offer to acquire a minority stake in the India-based drugmaker Mankind Pharma Ltd. The company has been valued $3.2-3.4bn and the two PEs are seeking a 15-20% stake, that is approximately $400m, analysts say. Mankind Pharma was established in 1986, it has 14,000 employees and generated revenues of approximately €0.55bn in 2017, 88% of which from OTCs and FMCG. Founder Ramesh Juneja’s family has 89% of the company’s shares.
