Menarini’s new chairman could contribute to strategic acquisitions

The Italian daily La Stampa has published an article about the new Menarini pharmaceutical group’s chairman. The new head is the Swiss Eric Cornut, 61, he comes from Novartis, where he worked until 2016, before being appointed interim Director General at the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industry Associations (Efpia). The appointment should help Menarini perform international-scale strategic acquisitions, the article says. Menarini, headquartered in Florence, yielded revenues of €3.6bn in 2017, it ranks 13 among European drugmakers and operates in 136 countries.
