Pfizer yesterday announced it intends to rise the prices of 41 drugs in the US starting from 15th January. The medicines represent 10% of the New York-based group’s portfolio. Pfizer last July announced a price increase for 100 drugs, however the price was frozen following Donald Trump’s threatening tweets.
According to Pfizer’s release, the price increase–between 5% and 3%–should be compensated for by the discounts granted to pharmacies and healthcare associations, so that patients should not be affected by it. Pfizer’s shares (Wall Street) have moderately responded to the announcement, indeed shares closed the week at +0.7%.
