German generics manufacturer Stada could target competitor Hikma, according to a statement by CEO Claudio Albrecht reported by The Sunday Telegraph. Albrecht has reportedly said that his company is seeking acquisitions and is targeting UK companies. The two most likely candidates are Vectura and Hikma. The latter seems a particularly interesting candidate after losing 20% of capitalization starting from the end of the year and 58% over the last 12 months. Hikma is currently valued GBP2.16bn, that is less than half Stada’s capitalization (€5.37bn).
